How to find your ifttt email alias

This article describes how to find your ifttt email alias that was created by ifttt when you signed up for the service.

The ifttt email alias can be added to the "receiver email"-field of the "email it" action. By this you can trigger ifttt tasks with files from Dropbox and combine Wappwolf Automator and ifttt to a powerhouse of the web.

Here is how it works:

  1. Login to ifttt.com

  2. Go to Channels / Email and set up your Email address

  3. Enter your email address to receive an activation PIN. The Email channel address may be separate from the address associated with your ifttt account.

  4. Send ifttt any email at trigger@ifttt.com and the trigger fires. ifttt will create a public URL of your single file attachment. You can even add hashtags (e.g. #ifttt) in the subject line of your email.

  5. You can send files stored in your Dropbox triggering ifttt tasks or you can process the file in your Dropbox with one of the many actions Wappwolf Automator provides and forward the processed file to ifttt triggering another task. The combinations are countless.
